Hong Kong’s Biggest Races 2025–2026: 10 Events Compared
Compare 10 major Hong Kong races from 2025–2026, from the Hong Kong Marathon to Disneyland. See participant totals, entry capacities, sources and race guides.

The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon leads this 2025–2026 list, followed by Disneyland’s 10K Weekend and Kerry Hong Kong Streetathon. Beyond those three, the ranking brings together city-centre charity runs, inclusive events and international trail racing.
For this 2025–2026 season review, we use 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026. Below are ten major running events, ordered by the numerical field sizes we could verify. The list includes road races, trail racing and inclusive running events.
Read the figure labels: participation, starters and available places measure different things. This is a ranking by published event size, with capacity used where a usable participation total was unavailable. It cannot establish the exact attendance order of every Hong Kong race. Rounded figures also make nearby positions indicative.
The ranking at a glance
On a small screen, swipe across the table to see what each figure counts.
| Rank | Race edition | Published figure | What it counts |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hong Kong Marathon 2026 | 74,000 | Main-race capacity; attendance over 90% |
| 2 | Disneyland 10K Weekend 2025 | Over 21,000 | Reported runners across the weekend |
| 3 | Kerry Hong Kong Streetathon 2025 | 18,618 | Actual starters |
| 4 | TWGHs iRun 2026 | Over 5,500 | Runners and pair-up partners |
| 5 | Henderson × Pok Oi Charity Run 2026 | About 5,000 | Reported runners |
| 6 | Kai Tak Run 2026 | Over 4,300 | Reported participants |
| 7 | MSF On Track to Save 2026 | Nearly 4,000 | Running and orienteering participants |
| 8 | Hong Kong 10K Championships 2025 | 3,500 | Advertised capacity |
| 9 | HK100 race festival 2026 | Over 3,000 | Announced festival participants |
| 10 | ASICS Half-Marathon Championships 2025 | 3,000 | Advertised capacity |
The headline number belongs to the whole event, unless stated otherwise. Disneyland’s total is not a 21,000-person 10K. HK100’s figure is not the field for its longest race alone.
1. Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 — 74,000 places
Race date: 18 January 2026. The organiser reported 74,000 main-race places and attendance above 90%. It also received over 120,000 applications. Those applications are demand for places, so they do not count as runners on the road.
The scale comes from combining the marathon, half marathon and 10K programme. For someone seeking Hong Kong’s biggest mass-running occasion, this is the clearest starting point. Choose the distance first: the event’s size does not make every category suitable for a first race.

2. Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend 2025 — over 21,000 runners
Race dates: 1–2 November 2025. Disneyland reported a record turnout of more than 21,000 runners across its 20th Anniversary Party Edition. The programme covered 3K, 5K, 10K and junior races.
This was a large running festival with several distances and sessions. Its appeal was the combination of Disney characters, costumes and a shared day out. It deserves a high place on a size-based list even though much of the programme focused on participation and family fun.

3. Kerry Hong Kong Streetathon 2025 — 18,618 starters
Race date: 23 November 2025. Streetathon published three useful numbers: over 20,000 registrations, 18,618 starters and 17,821 finishers. We use starters here because the organiser provided that more precise measure.
The 10th anniversary edition offered marathon, half-marathon and 10K events. Marathon and half-marathon runners passed through the Central Kowloon Bypass’s Yau Ma Tei Section before it opened to traffic. That access gave this edition a distinct place in Hong Kong’s running calendar.

4. TWGHs iRun — Hong Kong Jockey Club Special Marathon 2026 — over 5,500
Race date: 11 January 2026. The Jockey Club reported more than 5,500 runners of different abilities and their pair-up partners along the Central and Western District Promenade and Lung Wo Road.
The total includes the partners who ran alongside participants. That is part of the event’s purpose: supported participation and social inclusion. The programme included a 3K challenge for runners with intellectual disabilities and their volunteer partners. The word “Marathon” in the event name does not mean everyone ran 42.195 km.

5. Henderson × Pok Oi Central Harbourfront Charity Run 2026 — about 5,000
Race date: 25 January 2026. Pok Oi Hospital reported about 5,000 runners at its Central Harbourfront event. The programme included 10K, 3K and 1K races, family categories and a wheelchair experience category.
The attraction was a city-centre charity run with several ways to take part. Its shorter options also explain why a large event total should not be read as the size of one competitive field. The reported number covers the running programme, rather than everyone visiting the associated carnival.

6. AXA Presents: Kai Tak Run 2026 — over 4,300 participants
Race date: 29 March 2026. RTHK reported more than 4,300 participants in the second Kai Tak Run. The organiser offered 3K and 10K categories based at Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground.
The new 10K option added a longer waterfront run to the event. Together with the shorter categories, it gave different runners a way to experience the sports park. Treat the attendance figure as the total across the programme, rather than the number competing in the 10K challenge.

7. MSF On Track to Save 2026 — nearly 4,000 participants
Race date: 1 March 2026. Médecins Sans Frontières Hong Kong reported nearly 4,000 participants at Hong Kong Science Park. Its event combined running with orienteering, including 149 family orienteering teams.
This is the broadest comparison in the list. The published total includes both activities; it is not a road-running-only figure. We include it as a major event built around running and outdoor navigation, while keeping that counting limit visible.

8. Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong 10K Championships 2025 — 3,500 places
Race date: 19 October 2025. HKAAA advertised 3,500 places for the championships on Tin Ying Road in Tin Shui Wai. Its event page reports that entries filled, but does not establish how many runners started.
This is a more focused choice for runners who want a standalone 10K competition. The 2025 rules set a 90-minute limit. We retain the capacity label so the field is not mistaken for a verified race-day attendance count.

9. Anta Guanjun HK100 race festival 2026 — over 3,000 participants
Race starts: 22–24 January 2026. The event’s pre-race press release announced more than 3,000 participants from 60 countries. It covered The Third, The Half, Hong Kong 100 and the Grand Sam combination.
That figure describes the festival. It should not be assigned to the longest race alone, or increased by adding Grand Sam runners again across its component races. HK100 brings a large international field to trail running, where distance, climbing and technical terrain require a different preparation plan from a road race.

10. ASICS Hong Kong Half-Marathon Championships 2025 — 3,000 places
Race date: 21 December 2025. HKAAA’s rules listed 3,000 places for the 21.0975 km championships at Tai Mei Tuk, with a 2-hour-30-minute limit.
This is another competition-led option for runners who want a dedicated distance rather than a mixed festival programme. The figure is advertised capacity. It does not establish that 3,000 runners started or finished, and should not be used to claim an exact attendance placing against HK100.

How to read this top 10
We checked the sources on 31 October 2026. We use one edition per event within the stated season, retain “about”, “nearly” and “over”, and identify capacities separately. We do not add spectators, general volunteers or years of cumulative participation to the race figures. Organisers’ whole-event totals may still use different counting methods.
This is a documented shortlist, not a complete census of all Hong Kong races. For example, UNICEF’s 4 January 2026 PoweRun report says “thousands” without a numerical total we can place reliably. That absence does not mean it was smaller than every event above. Our UNICEF PoweRun 2027 page covers its later edition.
Two other familiar names need a season check. Oxfam cancelled its 28–30 November 2025 Trailwalker, so its planned field is excluded. The bridge half marathon’s 15 November 2026 date falls in the following season. Our Oxfam Trailwalker 2026 and HZMB Half Marathon 2026 pages cover those later editions.
Choose your next start line
Use the size ranking to choose the atmosphere, then check the distance, time limit and entry conditions. A large family festival, a half-marathon championship and a mountain ultra serve different goals.
Browse the Hong Kong race calendar for current editions. The internal race links in this article name the edition they cover; their dates and entry details should not be applied to the older races ranked here. You can also use our running-track finder to plan training near home.
